Introduction
Dr. Muhammad Fazil is a highly regarded pediatrician with over 30 years of experience in the field. Holding an MBBS, MCPS, and FCPS in Pediatrics, Dr. Fazil has made significant contributions to pediatric healthcare at MMC and Bacha Khan Medical College, where he has served for the past 15 years.
As the first pediatrician at Bacha Khan Medical College and MMC, Dr. Fazil founded the pediatric ward and has been instrumental in establishing various specialized units, including the nursery, isolation ward, nutrition stabilization center, High Dependency Unit (HDU), and emergency daycare center. Under his leadership, the Pediatric Department has flourished, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to children.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fazil is a dedicated educator, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in MBBS, MCPS, and FCPS programs. He serves as an examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate CPSP exams, contributing to the assessment and development of future medical professionals. Dr. Fazil is also an active member of several committees, including the Academic Council, IBP Committee, and Clinical Privilege Committee, playing a vital role in shaping educational and clinical standards at the institution.
Dr. Fazil served as Dean for three years, showcasing exceptional leadership in medical education and community health. A prolific researcher, he has published multiple papers in recognized journals on critical topics such as malaria, enteric fever, congenital heart disease, pancytopenia, COVID-19, bone diseases, diarrhea in children, and measles vaccination.
As a lifetime member and current chairman of the Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA), Dr. Fazil is dedicated to enhancing pediatric practices at both national and local levels. He also holds numerous national and international certifications in various pediatric specialties, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development.
