Educational Background : Dr Adnan Akhtar is a highly qualified and skillfull Nephrologist .
He obtained his Bacheloer of Medicine and Bacheloer of Surgery(MBBS) from Ayub Medical College in 2011 , Driven by his passion for Renal medicine he completed his post Graduate 5 years Fellowship in nephrology in year 2019 from one of the prestigious Institute of Pakistan i.e from PIMS Hospital islamabad and awarded with five years Degree of MD Nephrology.
Professional Experience
Dr Adnan Akhtar career spans over a decade;
After MBBS and house job started career in Medical college i.e RMI as a lecturer Pathology then served as Medical officer and incharge of different hospital under DHO. Then in 2014, he joined Nephrology Department PIMS as resident Nephrologist till 2019.During Residency in PIMS, he acquired vast experience of renal Medicine and Managed patients of AkI, CKD, GN, RPGN, Pre and Post renal transplant patients,acquired skills like Perma catheter insertion ,Doouble lumen insertion, Renal Biopsy etc
Leadership in Healthcare
Dr Adnan Akhtar is a pioneer Nephrologist in MTI MMC Mardan. He Served as Registrar Nephrology unit PIMS Hospital Islamabad and also served as Incharge of various hospital under DHO and showed examplary leadership qualities in developing those units.
Since assuming the role of HOD nephrology in MTI mardan, he has contributed in establishing new Dilaysis unit , enhancining dialysis Machines from 8 to 15, established dedicated Nephrology OPD in main opd block for 5 days a week. Minimize referals to peshawar in the available limited resources

Dr Adnan Akhtar has significant contribution in the field of Nephrology, as an active researcher with numerous publications in reputable national and international journals.To date he has published 5 origional research papers in national and international journals. His research beside other article also include "Effect of low dialysate vs standard dialysate on regression of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy in ESRD Haemodialysis patients" .This is the pilot study in pakistan
